After a very relaxing day on Sunday, and after recovering from our indulgent evening last night, we spent the day touring a couple different towns in the Amalfi Coast. First up was Amalfi Town, a 25 minute bus ride east of Praiano. We strolled through the cute town and stopped for obligatory gelato. The fluorescent lemon gelato lights up Hirsh's face in more ways than one. In Italy, this is what we typically have for lunch instead of real food.
Then, to switch things up a bit, we hopped on the ferry to Positano. We could've easily taken the bus, but the ferry was much more fun. We're on a boat!
Hirsh looking very Talented Mr. Ripley
After a quick ferry ride, we pulled into beautiful Positano. It's crawling with tourists for a reason, but it was still so fun to walk around and explore.
Sarah made the tremendous mistake of wearing jeans on this sweltering July day, so we stopped by a cheap waterfront store to buy the least expensive dress we could find. Even though Hirsh referred to it as a maternity dress, it's not too bad for 7 euros! And it DID help conceal the food baby.
There's not much to report from our time in Positano, other than the fact that we did some deeply dissatisfying (to Sarah) window shopping. Hirsh is pretty thrilled that we don't have room in our packs to buy anything new. In fact, the dress was a throw-away purchase.
After busing back to Praiano, we cleaned up and thought about dinner. We so thoroughly enjoyed our meal the night before at La Strada that we decided to go back. We asked the hotel owner if he'd mind calling and making a reservation for us. Hirsh had the phone number ready. No matter, the hotel owner knew their number by heart. It's also his family's favorite restaurant. Night #2 did not disappoint.
