We said goodbye to the Amalfi Coast and spent most of the day traveling to Florence. A bus, subway, and fast train later, and we arrived. The journey was not without its bright spots, though.
Our stop over in the Naples train station was exciting for three reasons: 1) We didn't die (Naples is basically the Detroit of Italy); 2) there was a group of adorable old Italian men holding an impromptu concert of classic Italian songs with piano accompaniment in the middle of the train station; and 3) Hirsh finally enjoyed the Neapolitan pizza he'd been longing for!
We made it to Florence pretty late and were thrilled with our most recent Airbnb find. There are frescoes on the walls of our apartment!
